Firebase: capabilities and uses
Firebase – features and uses

What is Firebase?

It is a Google platform used for building applications, optimising them, and supporting their sales or attracting new users. It can therefore be said that it is the place where the entire project team for your product will come together.

Firebase supports you at every stage of the app development process. It is, in fact, a suite of tools provided by Google and available in the cloud. Everything needed by developers – as well as those responsible for the business aspects of a given app – is brought together in one place. These are tools which, otherwise, they would have to build themselves or rely on off-the-shelf solutions – but ones available across different platforms.

What services does Firebase offer?

Every project built within it has four categories. These are, in order: programming, quality, analysis and development. The first two are intended for developers. Marketers are responsible for the remaining two. One of the advantages of Firebase – from the perspective of those responsible for the code – is that, in this case, the applications are based on modern technologies (we are referring here to Angular and React).

Everything is integrated with Google Cloud. This, in turn, means there is no need to manage servers from the ground up. We can even go a step further. It is, in essence, a server, a data store and an API. The latter can be easily customised. We won’t bore you with technical jargon here. Suffice it to say – developers are as delighted as children with the possibilities offered by Firebase.

Those in charge of marketing have no cause for complaint either. They are provided with tools that enable them to monitor the behaviour of users of a given app. They can also generate reports which they can use to plan product development from a business perspective.

Is Firebase free?

Yes, that is an option. However, the free version of Firebase offers limited functionality. This is, in fact, a solution currently often used by companies making their platforms – or, more broadly, their products – available. The paid version of Firebase provides access to all the tools. Consequently, this offers extensive possibilities for developing and subsequently selling your app.

The benefits of choosing Firebase

Firstly, the platform supports both Android and iOS apps. We also mentioned web development.

Firebase also offers a suite of authentication tools. These enable you to create applications that are secure from the user’s perspective, thereby fully protecting their data. The platform provides insight into user behaviour Specifically, it reveals how they use your app. This, in turn, means that you can respond – essentially in real time – to situations where, for example, a particular feature is not working as intended.

If you’d like to find out more about the possibilities offered by Firebase, please do get in touch. We use this platform ourselves when building applications. We can offer you the same.
